[Changing landscape]
Went over Wauconda pass from Republic and all the trees disappeared.
It’s very dry and we’ve seen a number of dead rattlesnakes along the
road. This is coming in to the town of Tonasket.

Nice landscape. That could be some little village on the Greek mainland if you added a few sheep and bouzoukis.
You must be in what we (in Canada) know as the Okanagan (called Okanogan in WA) Valley. I spent the winter of 1973/74 directly north of Tonasket in a tiny place near Penticton, BC. I love that landscape. It is a dramatic change though, isn’t it?
That scenery is striking. You guys are so close, I feel like I just visited this blog for the first time yesterday!
